“He’s Not Hyperactive Anymore”

hyperactivity: when your senses don't make sense

A single mom of an Autistic child was delighted to share that after his first Tomatis Intensive, her child was no longer hyperactive or displaying inattention.

Let’s talk for a minute about what a “game changing” development this is. When one is hyperactive and inattentive, learning becomes a near impossibility. So, it’s critical to register a new stimuli in your world in order to learn from it. Consequently, virtually all learning is dependent upon our ability to orient to a stimuli and process it.

Without this skill, you can’t:

  • recognize faces,
  • run from a fire,
  • constructively react to a sound

Almost nothing in this world can be accomplished when we can’t stand still or attend. This is the core issue of hyperactivity.

All of learning: speech, emotional development, and so much more is highly dependent on the ability to take in and respond to information from our world. Again, this is very hard to do when you’re hyperactive. In hyperactivity, information from your senses assaults you. You can’t filter, modulate, process, or learn from it.

Bombardment with stimulus from one’s environment results in anger and frustration which frequently cause tantrums. See what other families experiences have been.

The work of Tomatis is to encourage the brain to function in a more organized fashion. Unsurprisingly, we rely on the brain’s innate ability to grow and change. We present planned and controlled stimulation and frequently see the most wonderful results.

For this little boy, his vast improvement in his hyperactivity and attention, has enhanced his:

  • sleep
  • regulation
  • desire to communicate

As he is still in progress, we’re excited to see what other shifts he makes. The possibilities are now vast.
